Have you ever had your smart phone stolen?  Imagine how horrible that would be with as much of our lives that we store in there!  I have lost mine before, I've left it at home, or somewhere and had to stop everything to go fetch it or find it.  Minnesota may give us Minnesotans some protection.

Governor Dayton signed a bill yesterday that will take effect July 1st of next year.  All smartphones sold in the state beginning next summer are going to require a 'kill-switch' so that they may be remotely disabled if they are stolen.  The goal of this is to slow down the amount of smartphone robberies and crimes, especially on college campuses.  The ability to shut down the phone so that the data on it is just eliminated would be possible directly from the carrier.
