On Monday, Lowe's announced they will be closing a total of 51 underperforming Lowe's stores across North America. 20 are in the US and the other 31 are located in Canada. One of the US locations is here in Southern Minnesota.

Nope, it's not the Owatonna one, that one's safe! It's the Mankato Lowe's location.

Starting Thursday the Lowe's in Mankato will be offering crazy deals with a closing down sale. The location will close by February 1st, 2019, if not earlier.

"Those who have booked installations through the Mankato store will still have their booking honored, as will any quote and estimates obtained from the store," reports Bring Me the News.

And no, Lowe's is not closing because of online shopping. Home improvement stores, like Lowe's, aren't typically affected by Amazon because they don't sell nearly as much home improvement products as if you went into an actual store. They're closing these locations because CNN reports that "Lowe's is struggling to keep up with Home Depot." Oh, and don't forget, in the Midwest Lowe's also has to compete with Menards.
