It wasn't all that long ago that their donuts were proclaimed the Best in Minnesota, but now you can't get them anymore.

I don't know that I've ever had a bad donut, but when it comes to the best donuts, a prestigious national food magazine last year determined that here in Minnesota, you'll find them about an hour and 53 minutes away from Rochester.

Well, you USED to be able to find them a little under two hours away, that is. But that's not the case anymore. First, though, a little background:

Food and Wine Magazine's most recent list of The Best Donuts in America listed the Lindström Bakery in Lindström, Minnesota as the place that serves the North Star State's best bakery items. The bakery itself has been around for over 100 years, and according to its website, it "crafts locally baked goods for the surrounding communities using our award-winning recipes."

And, back in February, after the classic Lindström Bakery had been put up for sale, Eric and Angie Richey announced they were buying the business-- and keeping those authentic recipes for Minnesota's Best Donuts.

But now, though, less than two months later, Eric and Angie have announced that the Lindstrom Bakery is... closed! post on their Facebook page (now titled 'The Good Neighbor Cafe') on Friday (Apr. 1st) told the story of how it was closing on Saturday, April 2nd:

So what's up with that? Well, BringMeTheNews reported that Eric and Angie apparently opened the business under an agreement while the financial deal was in the process of closing. And apparently, for whatever reason, the sale didn't go through. So, the Lindstrom Bakery is back closed again while the original owner (who now still owns the business) searches for a new buyer.

Of course, while Lindström Bakery is just the latest Minnesota business to get some national attention, it's not the only one. Keep scrolling to check out all the Minnesota restaurants that have been featured in the national spotlight on the Food Network!

All 37 Minnesota Restaurants that Have Been Featured on the Food Network

Many Minnesota restaurants have been featured on the Food Network over the years. Some have closed now, but I checked out the Food Networks website, the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives website, and TVFoodMaps.com to find all of the Minnesota restaurants that have been featured on their channel in the past and found these 37 (in no particular order) that are still open.
