USA Today is on a mission to find the best indoor water parks in America. Looking at the curated list of voting options, it’s clear that Wisconsin is the indoor water park capital of the United States, thanks to one standout Wisconsin town.

Wisconsin Shines in USA Today’s Indoor Water Park Contest

Twenty indoor water parks are up to be named to the "10Best" list, and one will be crowned the best indoor water park in the United States. A quarter of the list features attractions located in Wisconsin: one in Lake Geneva and four in Wisconsin Dells.

Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark is the only Wisconsin park on the list not located in the Dells. This indoor water park boasts 35-foot-tall water slides, a 500-foot lazy river, and other activities for all ages.

Wisconsin Dells: The Water Park Epicenter

If you’re searching for the epicenter of American water parks, Wisconsin Dells is the place. Not only do they offer an impressive selection of indoor water parks, but visitors can also enjoy outdoor water and theme parks plus other attractions for year-round fun.

The four parks being nominated in Wisconsin Dells start with the Wilderness Resort. This park features a 70,000-square-foot transparent roof with a selection of slides, pools, and play areas that draw crowds from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and beyond.

Great Wolf Lodge: A Family Favorite Born in the Dells

The next two nominees are attractions with multiple locations around the United States, but both have flagship parks in Wisconsin Dells. Great Wolf Lodge Resorts launched in the Dells in 1997 as Black Wolf Lodge. Now with over 20 locations in the U.S. and Canada, it’s a wildly popular destination for families with young children.

Kalahari Resort: Big Upgrades in Wisconsin Dells

The final spot also has multiple locations and opened its first in the Dells. Kalahari Resort debuted its first of five U.S. locations in 2000. Kalahari recently announced a huge upgrade to its Dells location, making it one of the top spots for families.
