A partially decayed body was found in rural Mankato yesterday. A hunter came across the body "in a wooded area northeast of Highway 83 and County Road 12." This is according to a release from Captain Paul Barta of the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office.

Not much is known about the body at the time, including gender and identity. An investigation is taking place.

Thankfully, police say there is no threat to the public.

Investigators from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
