Byron, MN (KROC AM News) - A Byron man was arrested for DUI Monday after crashing two cars, including his mother’s.

A homeowner living near the Kalmar landfill saw a car speed by and later spotted it on its top in a nearby ditch around 8 a.m. A short while after calling 911 to report the crash, a man came to the homeowner’s door asking to use the phone. The man left after being told deputies were on their way.

Deputies began looking for the man and spotted a second vehicle that had crashed near Oxbow Park. They also found out a man had stopped at another home in the area around 4 a.m. and returned three hours later.

The deputies later located 20 year old Matthew Wright at his home. He was arrested after a breath test showed he had a blood/alcohol level of .14.
