Can You Identify Rochester’s Most Prominent Buildings?

May is Historic Preservation Month, and several Rochester organizations have created a fun way for you to learn more about our city. It's an architectural scavenger hunt. Do you think you can identify some of Rochester's most prominent buildings and hidden architectural gems? If so, you could win some sweet prizes.

Rochester is fortunate to have a variety of historic places. Some of these places, like the Chateau Theatre, are more known than others. Our hope is that, through the scavenger hunt, the community and visitors become more familiar with Rochester’s vast architectural history. - Cindy Steinhauser, City of Rochester Community Development Department Director.

How to play:

Head to the Rochester Library or go to their website and print the scavenger hunt form. Fill out the form and submit. If you get them all right, you'll be entered in a drawing!

The scavenger hunt runs from May 1st - 21st. Winners will be announced on May 28 at the City of Rochester's Historic Preservation Commission meeting and also, shared on social media.
