Hey, you know what’s pretty tasty? Fried chicken! Also, fried turkey. Or pretty much anything that’s deep-fried at the Minnesota State Fair every year. Now, you probably know that this stuff isn’t exactly good for you. But that definitely hasn’t stopped me from mowing down a drumstick or five at an outdoor summer barbeque. But here’s the thing: it turns out that your deep fryer might be altering more than just your waistline or cholesterol levels.

European researchers just came out with a study arguing that deep frying your food could actually have a weird effect on our weather. Basically, the air that’s released from a deep fryer can fuel more clouds, which in turn can cause cooler temperatures. Science!

This article goes into extensive detail about why that could be happening. I won't go into the details behind the science, because I am dumb, but my takeaway is that even if the Minnesota State Fair really is making our skies more cloudy...it's still totally worth it. If eating deep-fried cheese curds means I have to stay inside and watch Netflix more often, that's a price I'm willing to pay!
