
Slick Conditions Lead to Multiple Injury Crashes in Southern Minnesota
Undated (KROC-AM News)- Slick travel conditions were factors in multiple crashes in southern Minnesota on Wednesday.

The State Patrol responded to two accidents that occurred less than three hours apart. One happened on Interstate 35 and the other occurred on Interstate 90.
Snow and ice were present on the road at the time of both crashes. Each crash resulted in one person being taken to a hospital, according to the state crash reports.

Crash Involving Pick-up & SUV on I-90 Near Austin, MN Sends Driver to Hospital
The State Patrol responded to Wednesday evening’s first crash shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 90 in Mower County.
A pick-up and SUV, both traveling west, were involved in a rear-end collision after one of the vehicles lost control near the Hwy. 56 interchange east of Austin, the state crash report says.
24-year-old Marcus Aaron Chavez was identified as the driver of the pick-up. The Austin man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
48-year-old Efrem Teklezghi Berhe of Austin was driving the SUV. He and his passenger, identified as 20-year-old Fieruz Efrem Teklezghi of Austin, were not hurt, according to the State Patrol.
Freeborn County Crash Injures Dodge Center, MN Woman
Shortly before 9 p.m. an SUV crashed on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County.
The driver, identified as 28-year-old Bryant Austin Dow of Dodge Center, lost control of the southbound vehicle, which caused it to hit the guardrail then bounced backward towards the median cable barrier just north of Albert Lea, the state crash report says.
One of Dow’s passengers, identified as 30-year-old Jenna Michelle Lee of Dodge Center, was transported to a hospital with what the State Patrol describes as non-life-threatening injuries.
A second passenger in the vehicle, identified as 65-year-old Sandra Carleyne Estey of St. Michael, MN, was not hurt.
Alcohol was not a factor in either of the crashes and everyone involved was wearing their seatbelts, the State Patrol says.
