Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police are investigating a daytime burglary in the Elton Hills neighborhood.

The homeowner discovered the break-in after returning from work around 6:30 PM Tuesday.

Police say the intruder gained entrance by kicking open a basement door. Numerous items valued at several thousand dollars were missing. They included jewelry, a laptop, TV sets, a gaming system, and prescription pills.

The house is located in the 2500 block of 5th Ave NW.
