Jodie Whittaker is more than just an inspiration to Doctor Who fans; she’s inspiring the comics industry as well. The long-running sci-fi serial’s first female Doctor will also regenerate a brand-new comic series this fall, as developed by an all-female creative team.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Titan Comics will launch new series Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor this fall, coinciding with the premiere of Jodie Whittaker’s first full season on The BBC. The new series will be written by Orphan Black and Rogue One comic storyteller Jody Houser, with panels by Doctor Who artist Rachael Stott and colors by Enrica Angiolini.

Titan Comics has published Doctor Who comics for at least a few years now, including multiple crossover issues featuring the Doctors played by David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi and more. In the meantime, Whittaker will resume the onscreen role (having first appeared in the 2017 Christmas special) at an undetermined point in fall 2018, joined by new companions played by Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole. Additionally, Chris Chibnall has taken over as writer and showrunner from Steven Moffat.

Other details on Whittaker’s Doctor Who comic series will be forthcoming from Titan in the next few months, so stay tuned.
