The snow is already on the ground and my dog is not happy that he has to pee out in the cold again.  Finding his leash in the snow and getting it unfrozen is a hassle that he doesn't have to deal with but I do since I have to let him out.  Guess what?!  This winter we are avoiding that and here is a little tip to help you too.

We don't have a fence or an underground fence at our house - and our dog is not trustworthy to stay by us - so he is on a leash when he goes out to play and use the bathroom.  He is really good at tapping on the door when he needs to go out.  Finding the leash though in the freezing cold and snow covered ground is not fun.

Check out the video below (or on my page at this link if you can't see it below) and see how we have fixed this problem at our house.

Try it out at your house and let me know how it works for you.  If you've got other great ideas, I'd love to hear them.  Send me a message on my Facebook page (click here) or DM me on Instagram.
