What a weird time to be alive! In the last week, there have been multiple UFOs shot down by the U.S. armed forces. It started with the Chinese spy balloon that crossed a significant portion of the United States mainland. An F-22 shot it down after it passed over South Carolina and into the Atlantic Ocean.

Government officials have been transparent enough in the incidents. However, they have yet to release any information on the wreckage. The objects have been shot down primarily over remote areas, including the oceans and deep Great Lakes waters.

There was an unidentified flying object that had been tracked several times by NORAD. It had disappeared for a time but reappeared over Lake Huron.

It was described as being in an octagon shape with strings hanging down from it. News reports said that an F-16 had shot down the unidentified aerial phenomenon. Immediately, knowing that the F-16s were a part of the 148th National Guard Fighter Wing, I reached out to the 148th for comment. They have not responded at this time.

Shortly after, I saw a social media post from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, crediting Duluth, Minnesota's 148th Fighter Wing for downing the unidentified flying object (UFO or UAP) over Lake Huron. The 148th is based out of Duluth, but was supporting a Madison, Wisconsin air wing at the time. They took off from Madison to intercept the object.

The 148th Fighter Wing has been instrumental in defending our airspace. They flew patrol flights after 9/11. They have been deployed multiple times and have proven to be exemplary, winning multiple awards over the years.

Hopefully, more information will be available about these strange UAPs. Luckily, we have the 148th in the Northland.
