The annual Rochester Eagles Cancer Telethon passed a major milestone this year.

The fundraiser for cancer research at the Mayo Clinic, University of Minnesota, and Hormel Institute brought in over $1-million dollars in donations and pledges during the 20-hour long broadcast on KTTC-TV. It marked the first time in the 61 year history of the celebrated telethon the donation total has exceeded $1-million dollars.

At the end of the event at the Mayo Civic Center Sunday afternoon, the preliminary donation and pledge total was over $1,020,000,000. The 2014 Eagles Cancer Telethon brought in about $940,000 dollars.
