Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Authorities are trying to find a Rochester area man who threatened some people with a gun.

Rochester police say the incident began during the noon hour Wednesday at The Boulders and Townhomes complex near the Lowe’s store.

A spokesman says a woman who works at the complex was in her car eating lunch when her ex-boyfriend showed up. She refused to get out of her car and the man -37-year-old Ramon Ruiz of Eyota - began pounding on the window.

The woman drove away and went to the Lowe’s store. She then drove back to the apartment complex and parked in an underground garage. Ruiz followed her and again demanded she get out of the vehicle.

Two of the woman’s co-workers saw what was going on and told Ruiz to leave or they would call police. He then grabbed a handgun from his car and began waving it around and threatened to “shoot this place up.” He eventually drove away and police were called.

Court records show Ruiz has a history of domestic-related violations.
