Shafer, MN (MinnesotaNow)- A Minnesota man lost his life in a crash with a deer over the weekend.

The State Patrol says he was riding a motorcycle.
First responders were called to the deadly collision in eastern Minnesota’s Chisago County shortly before 1:00 Sunday morning.

The deer-motorcycle collision occurred on Hwy. 95 about 16 miles east of Forest Lake.
The state crash report says the motorcycle rider laid the bike down in the northbound lane after hitting the animal.
71-year-old Bruce Roy Fillmore of Shafer, MN was identified as the motorcycle operator. He was taken to a hospital in the Twin Cities where he died from his injuries, the State Patrol says.
Fillmore was not wearing a helmet and was not under the influence of alcohol, according to the state crash report.
