Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Mississippi River is still running high in SE Minnesota but continues a slow fall that should have it out of flood stage in most cities by this coming weekend.

Wabasha is the exception.

As of Monday afternoon, it was still more than two feet above flood stage in the Wabasha area. It’s expected to fall into minor flood stage Tuesday. The Army Corps of Engineers expects the river to remain in flood stage until next Monday or Tuesday.

The river has been running high for several weeks due to the heavy winter snow and recent rain. A number of areas in Wabasha are still affected by the high water, including the Highway 60 entry into the city.
