Fugitive Warrant Issued For Rochester Level 3 Sex Offender
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Level 3 sex offender living in Rochester is now a fugitive being sought by the Minnesota Department of Corrections. A statement from the department says 38-year-old Michael James Costa was placed on fugitive status last Friday for failing to comply with the conditions of his release from prison.
The predatory offender has a history of criminal sexual conduct convictions and failing to register as a sex offender. Costa was last seen on Friday leaving his home in Rochester on a black mountain bike wearing wearing a black leather jacket and black jeans.
Costa moved to Rochester to live under intensive supervision last July following his release from prison. He is known to use the aliases Maliik Gouli and Malik Mujaheed Hassan Costa. He is white, with brown hair and brown eyes, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs 190 pounds. The Corrections Department release also notes he has three documented tattoos on his left wrist, right forearm and right calf.
Do not approach or attempt to confront Costa. Anyone seeing him, or anyone with information about his whereabouts, is asked to call 911 or the Corrections Department investigator assigned his case at 651-361-7777.
