St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Catholic Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis has announced the death of a former leader.

Retired Archbishop Harry Flynn passed away Sunday evening. He was 86-years-old. Flynn served as Archbishop from 1995 through 2008, when he retired at age 75. A statement from the Archdiocese says the funeral arrangements are pending.

Prior to becoming the Archbishop, Flynn served as the bishop of the Diocese of New Ulm after moving to Minnesota from Detroit, where was born in 1933 and was ordained as a priest in 1974.
