Funeral Mass For Young Murder Victim

A funeral mass will be held Saturday morning for the Rochester woman who was apparently murdered while trying to help a friend earlier this week. The service for Kayla Kornanda will take place at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church beginning at 11 a.m.  The 18-year-old woman was shot to death at a rural Pine Island home Monday afternoon.  Olmsted County Sheriff Dave Mueller has said the evidence indicates she was killed by fellow Lourdes High School graduate Nicholas Roecker, who then killed himself.  The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
