Green Bay Radio Station Bleeps out Mention of Vikings in Lizzo Song

Lizzo has become a huge star and she also happens to be a Minnesota native! Of course, since she's from Minnesota, she makes mention of the Minnesota Vikings in one of her songs. Well, a radio station in Green Bay decided to bleep out the mention of the Vikings. Classic Green Bay.

The lyric is in the song "Truth Hurts" by Lizzo. The line says "Fresh photos with the bomb lighting, New man on the Minnesota Vikings." The Green Bay Gazette writes that the Green Bay radio station reached out to Atlantic Records and told them about their plan. They said that they would remove the mention of the Vikings "without compromising the beat or rhythm of the song."

When the radio station's music director Otis Day contacted Atlantic he told the Green Bay Gazette that “'They kind of chuckled. They didn’t seem to fully understand the reason we couldn’t play it. ‘Why can’t you play it?’ ... Because this is Green Bay, man.'”

When I first heard this I thought, wow, way to be petty, Green Bay! But then I thought, ya know what, we would do the exact same thing if a song had mention of the Green Bay Packers in it! We're that petty too.
