Guys forget the chocolate, the roses, the candlelight dinner. A recent study conducted by Baylor University says that if you are looking for an intimate date...painting is the activity to pick. Unleashing your inner artist releases more of the 'love hormone' than the other things you might be trying.

According to this Market Watch article, it's also a cheap way to go on a date. The study, published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Marriage and Family, showed that men who participated in painting released at least two times as much oxytocin, the love hormone, as their female painting counterparts.

The study used 20 couples between the ages of 25 and 40, randomly splitting the sample between those sent to community art class, where they created beach scenes including couples’ initials and those who play games like cards, checkers, chess, puzzles, dominoes, and Monopoly.

The study found that 'love hormone' levels were second highest for women playing board games, third for women painting and fourth for men playing board games.
