Have You Seen How Cold It’s Going To Be In Rochester Tuesday?!?
Sure, it's cold now but did this is going to look downright toasty compared to how cold it's going to be next week in Rochester!
We entered the coldest week of the winter season Thursday when that Arctic air mass invaded our area and dropped our temperatures well below zero (I had 12 below Friday morning at our place in northwest Rochester).
But if you look at the forecast for next week, that 12 below zero is nothin'-- in fact, that sub-zero temperature could be our HIGH TEMPERATURE! That's right, according to the National Weather Service - La Crosse forecast for southeast Minnesota, we'll see a high of 9 BELOW ZERO Wednesday. (That's right-- the HIGH is only supposed to be 9 degrees below zero!)
Now while that's pretty nippy, you don't really want to see the overnight low temperatures for next week, do you? Try 21 below zero Wednesday night. And that's the actual air temperature-- not the wind chill!
And, it could be even colder than that, depending on which forecast you believe. For instance, the Weather Channel forecast for Rochester says we'll dip down to 23 degrees below zero Tuesday night with the mercury only rebounding to 7 below on Wednesday! Hoo boy.
But wait-- there's more! How about some snow to go with that bitter-cold? Both forecasts are calling for snow Sunday night into Monday, too. And it could be significant. While the NWS forecast doesn't give an amount, the Weather Channel says we could get 5 to 8 inches by Monday afternoon!
Welcome to winter in Minnesota, right?!?
