I think we can all agree that some of these are pretty annoying.

Thinking back to when I was a teenager and through my early years in college, I can only imagine how stupid I sounded when spouting off things like "Waassssuuuup!" or "Fo' Shizzle". Shoot, I'll still spit out the occasional "Chillax(ing)" from time to time to my friends when I'm explaining what I'm doing over the weekend. I know, aren't I cool? But do those three sound anywhere near as annoying as today's words or catchphrases, I don't know, but I'm willing to bet you'd still like many of them to all go away.

Anyway, here's 5 words or phrases that Minnesotans should ban forever:

  • 1

    "Woke"

Seriously, who came up with this?  If you're not familiar, Urban Dictionary says it's a reference to how people should be aware in current affairs... great, then why not just say that? I'd rather hear someone say "Get a Clue" before "Get Woke" to me. Being told to "stay woke" just sounds awkward.

    "I Seen That"

Both my parents were teachers, and this one still makes their skin crawl. You saw that, not seen. You'd never say I have saw that, would you? Then why do you say I seen that? Quit cutting corners.

The correct way is "I've seen that", which means "I have seen that." People should give back their diploma for doing this so much.

    "Dilly Dilly"

Budweiser came up with a brilliant marketing plan when they came up with this... back in September. Since then it's been burned out and overused in every situation. It's gotten so bad, The Masters reportedly banned fans from yelling it at this past weekends golf tournament at Augusta National.

While we're at it, can we please just stop sending everyone to the "Pit of Misery" too? Thanks.

  • 4

    "Moist"

Do I really need to go into detail with this one?

  • 5

    "Hashtag" (Anything)

Look, I get it. Hashtags are popular and used every day on social media... but why do people feel the need to say hashtag out loud in normal conversation? "Man, I really killed it at the gym today, #naptime for me later!"

Read that out loud once... doesn't that sound silly? If you're guilty of doing this on a daily basis then #you're #probably #annoying #and #overusing #them #online #too

    #getit?
