History For This Year’s High School Freshmen
What the one thing this year's high school Freshmen are learning as History?
My son, Justin, and my daughter, Bella, are both Sophomores this year.
Justin has found True Love. His girlfriend is a Freshman. Is that Freshwoman? Freshlady? Freshgirl? Freshperson? Okay, she's a 9th Grader. Ninth Grader?
Anyway, a couple weeks ago , when we got together for their Homecoming, we went over to her house for pictures before the kids went out for dinner. I had my digital camera. Everyone else had their iPhone camera. She looked at my camera and said, "That's cute! What is it?" She'd never seen one before. I had my iPod hooked on my belt. She asked what that was, too.

This year's new Freshmen have only taken pictures with a camera phone. Their iPhone has a camera and all their music, like the "old" iPod's did. They also have social media on there, too.
They were born after Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake broke up.
When they were born, Toby Maguire's first Spider-Man movie was in theaters. Tom Holland might be their second Spider-Man.
They've never lived in a world without WiFi, Wikipedia or GPS.
Born in 2002, the Number One thing they are learning in High School History is about September 11th, 2001.
In a few year's time, there will be a Beloit College Mindset list to help their college professors understand and relate to them.
