Holiday Station Stores Sold To Canadian Firm

Holiday stations have a 90-year history with the state of Minnesota and the area, and now they will be owned by a Canada-based company.

According to a KSTP report, a company based in Montreal called Couche-Card has purchased Holiday Stationstores Inc., which was started by the Erickson family in 1928.

The company is picking up all issued and outstanding shares of the Holiday stock as well as some other affiliated companies. There are 522 company or franchise locations in 10 states, including Alaska.

The purchase price was not disclosed and the new buyers indicate they will continue operating out of the Bloomington headquarters. Couche-Card is the parent company of Circle K stores, with 9,500 stores in North America and more than 2,700 in Europe.

According to Forbes, Holiday had $3.2 billion in revenue in 2016. Company Chairman and CEO Ronald Erickson said the company will be in excellent hands.
