Homeless Man Charged in Brutal Rochester Assault
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man described as homeless has been arraigned on a first degree assault charge in a brutal beating that sent the victim to the St. Mary's Hospital ER Tuesday night.
Conditional bail for 42-year-old Robert Warren has been set at $50,000.
Warren was spotted stomping on a man’s head in the 1500 block of 11th St SE around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night. The victim was unresponsive when officers arrived and Rochester police described his injuries as life-threatening.
Police say the 31-year-old victim suffered multiple facial and/or skull fractures and had to undergo emergency surgery for a severe ear injury. When interviewed by police, Warren said “the other guy” jumped him.
