Let's call this little girl Daniela. She has brothers and sisters she wants to buy Christmas gifts for, but her family has very little money. What can she do? How will they pay for gifts?

The Red Kettles. The money from the kettles and toy donations, make sure Daniela will be able to give her brothers and sisters something for Christmas.

Maybe Daniela's family doesn't have much money now, but less than a year ago they did. A huge fire could have burned down her neighborhood, and left the family homeless. Where did they get shelter, food, child-care, and medical help when they lost their home and one of her parents was hurt in the fire and couldn't work?

The Red Kettles. When you see the Salvation Army Red Kettles, your donation doesn't just help during the Christmas Season, it is how Rochester's Salvation Army functions all year.

When will the Red Kettle Season kick-off? Officially, on the 17th, and we broadcast from the top of the Plummer Building, ringing the largest Salvation Army Bells in town!

But there's a soft opening coming up on the 8th and I think you'd have a blast if you attend at Hy-Vee on 37th Street NW from 5:30 - 6:30 PM.

There will be music from the Salvation Army Band and Seeds of Wisdom Children’s Choir. According to Rebecca Snap, “People’s spirits are lifted by children singing and by the wonderful reminder of how generous this community truly is towards our neighbors in need.”
