How Many Bags of Garbage Would You Be Willing To Go Through?

I have been thinking all day about the story of Shannon Lombardo and her wedding and engagement rings. Shannon was cleaning her rings, set them on a napkin and then accidentally threw them away. By the time she realized what she'd done, the garbage had been picked up and taken to a garbage station. You'll never believe HOW LONG it took her to find them. Check out her story here:

The thing I can't get out of my mind is this: how many bags of garbage would *I* be willing to go through to find my wedding rings? Back in third grade, I accidentally threw my retainer away at a birthday party and barely made it through the TWO bags of garbage a gaggle of 9 year old girls generated. I'm confident I would never make it through 800 bags filled with...well, you know!
