When you think of clearing the road snowplows, and maybe shovels come to mind. That wasn't what Albert Lea police meant in a social media post yesterday morning. In a post to their social media page, Albert Lea police indicated that they had found hundreds of used medical needles illegally dumped on the side of the road.

Police indicated that the needles were inside a garbage bag that had landed on the side of an area road and broken open to reveal the needles.

This isn't the first case of improperly disposed of medical needles in Minnesota this year. Last week three buckets of needles were found along a Chisago County road. KSTP reported that the Sheriff's Office found that three buckets were filled with unused needles.
