Ice Castles Not Coming to Minnesota This Winter Due to COVID-19…but Maybe to Wisconsin
Sorry folks, the best thing about Minnesota's winters were just canceled. #Thanks2020
The one thing that I was looking forward to this winter was just taken off the schedule for 2020. Let's be honest...it was the only thing on my schedule for 2020. Ice Castles made the announcement today that they will not be coming to Minnesota this winter due to the pandemic.
My heart sunk when I saw the story pop up on KSTP's Facebook page just a little bit ago.
Minnesotans have enjoyed the gorgeous castles made out of ice for the past 6 years and I know this is sad news for many. Their statement makes it sound like they are still going to have their event in other locations though. Right now, their website features Wisconsin, Utah, New Hampshire, and Colorado. I didn't see any updates on their Facebook page but you can follow them and stay up to date on their plans and maybe make the trek to Wisconsin if you really want to visit the ice.
If you've never been, the ice castles have slides, thrones, LED lighting inside the ice and is truly one of the most breathtaking sights in our winter landscape. Again, this is a sight I haven't personally seen, but I have seen your photos. You can take a look at some of the photos they've posted on their Instagram page here too.
Do you have any great photos from your visit at the Ice Castles? I'd love to see them. Send those to me on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio.
