There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home. If these iconic shoes could speak I think that's what they would be saying. Dorothy from the movie 'The Wizard of Oz' made that phrase famous, but the actress who played Dorothy, Judy Garland, made the shoes famous. Her ruby red slippers that were featured in the film were stolen from the 'Judy Garland Museum' in her hometown of Grand Rapids in 2005. Now they are back!

The slippers, one of four pairs used by Garland as she played Dorothy in the iconic movie, were taken from the museum in her hometown of Grand Rapids in 2005.

The search for the slippers prompted a $1 million reward and spawned stories that the slippers had been thrown by the thieves into the nearby Tioga Mine Pit, prompting regular searches by diving teams, according to a 2015 Pioneer Press article.

According to ABC News today the FBI confirmed that the slippers have indeed been recovered, with more expected to revealed about the circumstances of the discovery at a 1 p.m. press conference.

The thieves struck in August 2005, smashing a rear-door window at the museum and walking out with the slippers, that are valued at $1 million according to Newsweek.
