St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension responded early today to an officer-involved shooting in St. Paul.

Very little information has been released, but a statement issued by the St. Paul Police Department indicates one of its officers was involved in a shooting that occurred around 12:20 a.m. in the 400 block of Thomas Avenue West. It says the man who was shot was transported to Regions Hospital for treatment and that no officers were injured.


The location is in St. Paul's Frogtown neighborhood and is directly across the street from an elementary school.

The MN Crime website is reporting that the officer who opened fire was responding to a report of a sexual assault. The MN Crime report also indicates the man suffered a gunshot wound on one of his arms.

The BCA says it will release additional information about the incident once the preliminary investigation is completed.
