Full Slate of Events Set for Martin Luther King Day in Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester’s annual celebration to commemorate the work and life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is set for Monday.
The events, referred to as “We Have a Dream Celebration,” are put on by the NAACP Rochester Branch.
Martin Luther King Day 2024 in Rochester begins with the “We Have a Dream Breakfast” at the Mayo Civic Center. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
The breakfast is complementary. A program, put on by the local NAACP chapter in partnership with the Rochester Area Chamber of commerce, starts at 9 a.m.
A Dr. Martin Luther King Freedom March rally will then commence on the first floor of the Civic Center at 10:30 a.m. That will be followed by the Community People’s Program at the Rochester Civic Theater at noon.
The day will then wrap up with a celebration and birthday party for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
