Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former Rochester man has pleaded guilty in a local drug case involving thousands of fentanyl pills and a significant quantity of cocaine.

Twenty-six-year-old Seila Abdurahman Ibrahim, who now has a Lakeville address, and 25-year-old Omar Yasin Mohamed of Rochester were arrested in June 2024 as a result of a narcotics trafficking investigation conducted by Rochester police.

Under Police Surveillance

According to the criminal complaints against the two men, they had been under law enforcement surveillance and were observed making multiple suspected drug-trafficking trips to the Twin Cities area before the vehicle they were in was stopped by law enforcement on Highway 52 just north of Rochester.

Huge Stash of Fentanyl and Cocaine

The criminal complaint says a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a package of fentanyl weighing more than 1.6 pounds and containing more than 7,000 fentanyl pills. Another bag in the vehicle contained a brick of cocaine that weighed nearly 270 grams with packaging.

Plea agreement

Ibrahim entered into a plea agreement this week and admitted to a first-degree drug possession charge. In exchange, the Olmsted County Attorney's Office has agreed to dismiss another first-degree possession charge and two counts of first-degree drug sales. He is scheduled to be sentenced in May.

Court documents show that Mohamed earlier entered a guilty plea to a first-degree drug sales charge through a plea agreement that led to the dismissal of another first-degree drug sales charge and two counts of first-degree drug possession. He was sentenced to six months in jail.
