Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Two people suffered injuries in two separate crashes on Hwy. 52 in Rochester Friday.

Both crashes occurred during the afternoon commute. They happened roughly 30 minutes apart. 

The State Patrol responded to the first crash around 2:45 p.m. at the Hwy. 52 and 37th St. Northwest interchange. The state crash report says a northbound luxury car and northbound semi truck collided in the northbound lanes.

The car driver, identified as  34-year-old Fadil Abukar Jeylani of Rochester, was taken from the crash scene to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.

25-year-old Trent Michael Meyer was operating the semi. He was not hurt. 

The second crash also occurred in the northbound lanes of the Hwy. at the interchange with 19th St. Northwest. The crash report indicates a northbound compact SUV and northbound minivan collided shortly after 3:15 p.m.

58-year-old Carol Louise Moechnig of Frontenac was driving the SUV. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for further care.

The minivan driver, identified as 60-year-old Scott Thomas Durocher from Eagan, was not hurt.

Both reports say all drivers were the lone occupants of their vehicles. Alcohol was not involved in either crash and everyone was buckled up. 

The Rochester Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service responded to both crashes.
