Stewartville Woman Killed in Crash at Farm Driveway on HWY 30

Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - A rural Stewartville woman lost her life Saturday morning in a crash that occurred while she was exiting a farm driveway.

The State Patrol says 64-year-old Sharon Evenson was pulling out of the driveway onto Highway 30 when her car collided with another car that was traveling east on Highway 30. The deadly collision was reported shortly after 7:30 AM in Rock Dell Township, just east of Olmsted County Road 15 and about 3 miles west of the Rochester Airport.

Evenson was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 25-year-old Karl Stasko of Hayfield, suffered non-life-threatening injuries that did not require transport to a hospital.

The State Patrol report indicates both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
