I write articles about restaurants all of the time. I love sharing the news about a new eatery opening and seeing the excitement from both the restaurant staff and eager local residents looking forward to trying out new places. On the other hand, one of the worst parts of my job is writing about businesses closing. Unfortunately, this is one of those instances.

A restaurant chain just announced they were closing their three locations in Minnesota immediately.

Stalk & Spade has announced it is closing its restaurants in Edina, Wayzata, and Minneapolis.

The restaurant, founded by Olympic hockey player David Bakes, released a statement that explained its goal was “to provide delicious plant-based foods that were familiar favorites you could feel great about eating.”

Stalk & Spade was a 'Plant-Based American Grill' with burgers, chicken sandwiches, wraps, fries, shakes, and ice cream on the menu.

On their website they thanked customers and explained the decision didn’t come easy, “We are sorry to share that the difficult decision has been made to close all three Stalk & Spade restaurants effective November 1, 2023.”
