Ft, Myers, FL (KROC AM News) - A Rochester area woman accused of killing her husband and later murdering a woman in Florida made a brief court appearance this week.

Authorities in Ft. Myers accuse 57-year-old Lois Riess of killing a woman in the victim’s condo so she could steal her identity. According to Ft Myers news media outlets, Riess will be back in court in September. She may also face new charges in Texas this summer.

Riess is wanted on a warrant issued by Dodge County authorities last year.

She is suspected of killing her husband in their Blooming Prairie home last March and then fleeing to Florida. Authorities say after the Ft Myers murder, she drove the victim’s car to Texas where she was eventually apprehended. She could face the death penalty if convicted in the Florida case.
