Lost In the Gulf, Wisconsin Man’s Dentures Found By Mississippi Man

Two Mondays ago a Wisconsin man was having a blast in the Gulf of Mexico and a wave knocked his dentures into the Gulf. And earlier this week, in one of the most surprising stories, he got them back.

How The Dentures Ended Up In the Gulf

Randy Williams, from Pitosi, Wisconsin, was actually in the Gulf when according to a story on Fox 10 the wind blew his hat off his head.

“And I went to grab my hat and I was sideways, and a wave just came in and hit me alongside the head and I felt them (the dentures),” recalled Randy Williams during a phone interview from Wisconsin. “I felt them when I went in the water and I had them in my hand for a second in the ocean and away they went.” (Source)

That was Monday the 9th, and by May 13th, he was heading home, figuring the dentures were gone forever...and they're not inexpensive to replace!

Aaron Welborn goes to Gulf Shores every year with his wife, and thankfully, this year was no different. Again, according to Fox 10, he had finished up snorkeling and was on his way in from the water when...

“I’m just like well, I’m going to put my goggles on and look down in the water as I walk up and maybe, just by chance I’ll find something and I stuck my head in the water and as soon as I stuck my head in the water, they were literally sitting there on the bottom, just smiling at me,” Welborn said. Randy Williams's name was on them, so some internet machining, social media-ing, and phone calling, and Thursday (May 19th) Randy was wearing the dentures and all smiles.

Personal Note: Think about that...If Aaron hadn't decided to just see what he could find, just for fun, Randy would have never seen those teeth again. But he did, and now Randy does. I have to say, I like the way the world works.
