Lourdes Girls Basketball Makes MN History In 1,000 Wins

The trek to 1,000 wins started back in 1971 for the Rochester Lourdes Girls Basketball team, and after 8 state championships and only five losing seasons, the Lourdes Girls created history.

The Eagles topped HVL foe Byron 58-22 to enter the record books as the first girls program in Minnesota to reach 1,000 wins. According to the team's twitter account, the program's record now sits at 1000-266. A pretty incredible feat.

As of Friday morning, the Eagles are ranked #2 in the state in Class AA, with a record of 11-2. Their two losses coming to Lake City and Stewartville, both on the road.

The Eagles are back in action Friday night as they travel up to Kenyon-Wanamingo to take on the Knights.
