Machete Attack in Hayfield Sends Man to Hospital With Head Wound
Hayfield, MN (KROC AM News) - Two men were arrested in Hayfield early Wednesday as suspects in a machete attack that sent a man to the hospital.
Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose says deputies were sent to an apartment in the 100 block of 1st Ave NE in Hayfield to check a report of a fight around 2:00 AM. They found two men who said they had been given a ride home from a bar by a man who tried to rob them. The men said they fought with the man and he left.
A few minutes later, deputies were sent to a residence the 900 block of 3rd Ave SE to check on a man with a severe head wound. Rose says the deputies found the man “standing in the driveway with large amounts of pooling blood on the ground.” He had a large deep wound on the left side of his face and head. Rose says the man told the deputies he had been assaulted by two men with a machete in an apartment after leaving the bar.
Deputies at the apartment found blood on the floor and wall, a bloody pillowcase, and a machete. They arrested the two men in the apartment and they are expected to face charges.
