Rochester, MN (KROC-AM) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to 10 years probation for a conviction stemming from a drug-related assault and robbery last summer.

21-year-old Kameron Jones earlier entered an Alford plea to a felony count of aiding and abetting simple robbery. The plea means he does not admit guilt, but acknowledges there is enough evidence to convict him.

Jones was accused of participating in an attack on a 25-year-old man who told police he went to a residence in the 400 block of 9th Avenue Southeast the night of August 3 to buy some marijuana and was assaulted by 4 men. The victim says the men beat him and choked him until he blacked out. His attackers also stole the man’s money, which he says totaled $3500.
