Minneapolis, MN (MinnesotaNow)- Law enforcement reported the first two deaths stemming from a pair of mass shootings that occurred on the same day last week in Minneapolis

Both of the victims died in hospitals. Officers responded to the first mass shooting shortly after 11 a.m. at a transit center on September 15.

The second mass shooting occurred 11 hours later at a homeless encampment.

Man & Woman Hit By Gunfire During September 15 Mass Shootings in Minneapolis Die from Their Wounds

Five men were hit by gunfire during the morning shooting at the East Lake St. and Stevens Ave. Transit Center. 

Police at the time reported one of the shooting victims was found in a stairwell suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. The four other victims suffered non-life-threatening wounds, police said. 

Authorities identified that shooting victim as 46-year-old Adam John Peterson. A news release issued over the weekend says Peterson died from his injuries at a hospital on Saturday. 

Seven people were shot during the mass shooting on the night of September 15, which occurred at a homeless encampment in the area of  S 28th Ave. and E Lake St. 

A woman, identified as 30-year-old Jacinda Oakgrove suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds and was brought to a hospital. 

A news release issued Friday night by Minneapolis Police indicated Oakgrove passed away in the hospital on Thursday. An update on the conditions of the other victims is not available.

As of Monday morning no arrests have been made in connection to the transit station shooting.

Police say one person was arrested for the encampment shooting but was later released “pending any formal complaint.”
