Thanks to the generosity of 832 members in the Rochester area and Mayo Clinic, over $320,000 was raised for The Salvation Army on December 19th and 20th, 2020.

According to the press release provided by The Salvation Army, Mayo Clinic's Virtual Red Kettle Match brought in a total of $160,911.90 in online donations.  Mayo Clinic is  matching that amount which makes the grand total raised to nearly $322,000.

"There is tremendous need this year for the services provided by The Salvation Army," says Mayo Clinic President and CEO, Gianrico Farrugia, M.D. "We are so thankful to see this kind of generosity from the community."

Last year was the first time that The Salvation Army was surprised by the matching gift from Mayo Clinic.  Having this happen for a second year truly is a blessing and will help so many in our area who are in need.  Every year, over 11,500 individuals receive assistance from The Salvation Army.

“We are so grateful to Mayo Clinic for their continued support and for this exceptionally generous gift,” said Major Robert Mueller, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army, “The Salvation Army’s programs in this community are life changing to those individuals and families utilizing our services. By matching the dollars in their virtual kettle, Mayo Clinic is helping bring hope and healing to thousands of our neighbors in need.”
