In fact, it was named the 3rd best place to retire in America, behind Miami and the #1 best retirement city, Orlando.

WalletHub compiled a list of the best places to retire in America, evaluating factors like affordability, activities, quality of life, and health care. They gave each city a score based on these criteria.

Minneapolis Shines as a Retirement Haven
Minneapolis was ranked number 3 on the list of over 180 cities in America. WalletHub points out that Minnesota’s largest city has one of the most "elderly-friendly labor markets in the country," with plenty of jobs suitable for elderly residents looking for extra income or just something to occupy their time.
Job Opportunities for Seniors in Minneapolis
According to the stats, 22% of the working population in Minneapolis is over the age of 65, providing ample options for seniors. Minneapolis also ranks high in a variety of other areas, like health care, boasting the 6th best hospital system in the country.
Midwest Representation in the Top 10
Minneapolis is one of two Midwest cities to make the top 10. Cincinnati, OH, was ranked as the 7th best place to retire. Half of the list consists of cities in Florida, while Scottsdale, AZ, Casper, WY, and Atlanta, GA, also made the top 10.
