Chaska Middle School West band teacher Eric Songer decided that he wanted to make the holidays special for his 380 band students. So he went Christmas caroling with his trombone at every single students' home between Thanksgiving and Christmas. That's some dedication!

When the pandemic first started and Eric couldn't teach his students in person, SW News Media says he got a master list of all of their addresses and mapped out different places small groups of them could get together outside, 6-feet apart, and play music together. But when November hit, it was getting cold out, COVID cases were going up, Eric realized he needed to do something different for the holidays.

So he made a new map of all his students' homes and made a game plan to stop at each home to play Christmas carols on his trombone for them and drop off a bag of candy. He also sent students Christmas carols in case they wanted to play with him (from a distance of course).

He started his massive trek to hit every student's house right after Thanksgiving and he finished up the caroling last week. SW News Media writes that Eric stopped "at 20 to 30 homes a day nearly every day" last week to fit everyone in. This guy worked really hard to make sure his students had a great holiday!
