Minnesota Among Best States For Disaster Preparedness
There really is a study for everything these days. Sometimes the studies are silly. Other times, they raise awareness for something important.

We obviously have severe weather in Minnesota, from tornadoes in the summertime to major winter storms in the winter.
Anyone who has lived here, even for a short time, knows that you have to be prepared for all of the severe weather we have. It's just a way of life for us!

Helping us reach such a great spot on the list is our community resilience ranking, where we placed number one out of all the states. In this instance, community resilience is defined as follows:
Community resilience is the ability of a community to prepare for anticipated natural hazards, adapt to changing conditions, and withstand and recover rapidly from disruptions.
That's another thing we can be proud of! The higher the score, the lower the risk. It is true that we can adapt to pretty much anything. We live in a state where feet of snow at one time isn't uncommon so we kind of have to!
Whenever I see something like this, it reminds me to make sure I have everything ready to go in case of severe weather this summer! I think it is time to watch Twisters again.
