Nine Foods Could Become Hard To Find In Minnesota Soon
When empty shelves start popping up at grocery stores, it is time to pay a little bit more attention. Last week, when I was shopping,I saw empty shelves in the area where the popular drink, La Croix, was displayed. A small sign near it indicated an "outage" was causing issues with the supply.
According to another source, it sounds like 9 additional foods are also going to start disappearing from store shelves in Minnesota.

9 Foods At Grocery Stores That Could Start To Disappear From Store Shelves
I was doing some doomscrolling the other night and a story that caught my attention was about food shortages. I have a full house of people to feed and I remember what life was like during the pandemic. I walked through the barren grocery store and found a can of pinto beans on the shelf. I wanted canned green beans. This was my only option for a "bean".
I already knew finding toilet paper was a no-go so I walked through the meat area hoping to find something I recognized that I could cook. There had to be a few packages of 80/20 hamburger, right?! While I did grow up in Iowa and had relatives with farms, I had no idea what some of the meat options were that I saw displayed before me.
The National Institute of Health stated that tens of millions of people in America struggled during the pandemic with finding and affording food. And the challenge has only increased thanks to prices of groceries continuing to rise.
According to The Coconut Mama, ICE raids at California farms are one of the latest reasons why food items are going to start disappearing from store shelves.
Here are 9 foods that she recently highlighted and the cause for the shortage:
1. Berries
Our weather has already caused a lot of issues with berry production. Unfortunately, the farms in California (where a large portion of the U.S's fresh produce comes from) has recently been raided by ICE.
2. Almonds
Blue Diamond shared recently that it is closing one of its processing plants. It is happening down the road, but it is happening. You can read more about the impact and how the price of almonds has already gone up by 50% year after year here.
3. Broccoli and Cauliflower
If you just said "ewe", you probably won't feel the impact of this food. However, those who love to put these vegetables on their plates are going to notice either a price increase, a shortage, or both thanks to the weather variations lately in Arizona.
4. Seafood
This was predicted already with the tariffs that have been talked about recently. There are some climate issues too but the one thing to know is this...either prices are going up or you'll see less seafood options near you.
5. Eggs
Bird-flu was the huge reason why the latest egg shortages caused stores to start putting limits on shoppers. Recalls have also been happening, which have further stressed the already limited egg supply.
6. Sugar
California has a big impact on our food supply, and sadly, sugar is not immune to that shortage. The California sugar industry recently collapsed, which could cause issues with the supply at our local stores.
7. Coffee
This one hurts. This is my lifeline. Unfortunately, coffee producers in Brazil and Vietnam had a really tough time with their latest growing season. Coffee prices have increased because of that, along with issues and disruptions in some of the trading routes.
8. Juice
Oranges have to have lots of sun and just the right amount of rain to provide the best, juicy fruit. Unfortunately, frost and cold, along with some of the storms this past year have caused issues with the growing season in Florida.
9. Wheat
Did you know that Ukraine has been one of the world's largest wheat producers? The war in that country has caused major devastation and shortages of wheat have been happening since the war started. Other grains have also experienced shortages but wheat is one that you may notice first.
