Minnesotans LOVE going to our state fair every year, and according to a new national survey, there's a pretty good reason we can't wait to hit the midway each summer.

That's because according to this Business Insider survey of the best state fairs in the country, guess which one came in ranked at number-one? Yeah, you guessed it-- that'd be the Great Minnesota Get-Together!

The story ranked 17 different state fairs across the country. (How they landed on that number, though, I'm not entirely sure-- it seems kind of random, doesn't it?) The story said they used recommendations from Four Square in determining the rankings.

No matter how they did it, though, Minnesota's State Fair came out on top. Which is no surprise to us, is it? Our state fair really IS pretty cool-- and is a rite of summer here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. I mean, it's just not summer unless you head to the fair at least once before it wraps up on Labor Day, is it? It literally is the last event of the summer every year.

I didn't know this, but the story said our state fair is also the second-largest in the country, with nearly 2-million Minnesotans (and a few Iowans and Wisconsinites tossed in, I'm guessing) in attendance last year, on the fairgrounds which span a 'sprawling 320 acres,' the story said.

While not as good as ours, our neighboring states' fairs were also fairly (see what I did there?!?) high-ranked, as weel: The Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis came in at #7, and the Iowa State Fair was ranked #8 on their list.
